About Me
Hello! I'm Noel Miller, a reporter and writer with four years of newswriting experience, seeking opportunities in South-Central Pennsylvania to serve local communities with truthful, accurate reporting.
Everyone has a story, and many people want to tell theirs. That's where I come in, working to find and share the stories that impact my community. I cover stories about the big and the small, the mundane and the unexpected, through words and photos.
Raised in York, I attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania from 2018 to 2022. There I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Journalism with a minor in Gender Studies. During my undergraduate studies, I contributed award-winning news and features to The Slate, the student-run newspaper.
With three years of hands-on newsroom and reporting experience, I led The Slate as Editor-in-Chief, overseeing coverage and mentoring my staff. Additionally, I interned with the Gettysburg Times newspaper in 2021, where I reported on local issues and events.
My university education and local reporting experience fundamentally shaped my dedication to excellent reporting and editing. Local newspapers that provide timely, truthful and accurate reporting are vital to American democracy during this politically and economically tumultuous time. I want to work with a dedicated and enthusiastic team to bring local communities quality news through reporting, writing, editing photography and page design.
